A recent Projector Screen Performance Report under the title The Best Projector Screen (for most people) came out recently authored by Chris Heinonen, a senior editor at HomeTheaterHiFi.com, Displays Editor and a contributor to HDGuru.com. Chris has been reviewing displays and projectors for more than 5 years now and he is ISF certified to get the best out of any display device. He used all NIST-certified equipment (National Institute of Standards & Technology) to measure any TV or projection screen that exists.
After spending 90 hours building (and painting) projection screens, watching content, measuring image quality and comparing screens side-by-side he ended up with the following list of the top screens (for most people) available on the market today:
Reference levels (in yellow) are the ideal performance.
An ideal screen will produce the exact same numbers as the reference.
Any difference means the screen is affecting the color of the reflected image.
Numbers use the Delta E 2000 formula, where lower is better.

Chris’ choice for the best screen for most people was the Silver Ticket screen which obviously, from looking at the measurements, came lower than even our Screen Goo paint BUT, for most people looking for a $200 screen that was easy to install, this was the best.
Chris’ opinion regarding both GooToob and Screen Goo paint, in general was, that “The GooToob offers the best measured performance of any screen regardless of price but is a huge pain to install and nearly impossible to move.” We (somewhat) agree but feel that putting up the very best performance for your expensive projector and home theater for less than $300, sometimes, requires a bit of extra work!
Chris’ experience in the field and status with the market makes this a trustworthy performance comparison/report and we thank him for taking the time (more than 90 hours of work altogether) to get to the bottom of it.
NOTE: At Goo Systems we have been researching new Screen Goo recipes and manufacturing technology for making the highest quality screens available on the planet. We are currently sold out on all our GooToob models and expect to make a new production run sometime in Spring of 2015.
