Ljudbyrån AB in Gothenburg, Sweden, is an innovative company focusing on creating entertaining and functional solutions for Department/Retail stores and public environments using the latest technology within screens, projectors, touch screens, audio and touch foils.
“The possibilities are endless if you are creative enough. Since the retail market as well as most other markets is moving towards a more digital concept it’s important to create a unique way to use this technology in order to generate that ”wow factor” said Jonatan Thomasson one of the principals at Ljudbyrån.
“When working with projections, it’s vital to optimize both the surrounding light environment as well as the actual surface for the best possible picture.”
“One very common obstacle when projecting in bright public environments is to get good contrast in the picture. The black is bleached pretty much all the time because of the surrounding ambient lights. One way to prevent this is to reduce the environmental ambient lighting, but that is almost never an option since the surrounding exposures would suffer from it.”
“Ljudbyrån and Marbodal Kitchens are working on an interesting project based on projections on a 3D surface with lots of details that require good contrast. The basic principal was to create a 3D kitchen in real size where a customer can choose different kitchen series and combination of materials, wallpapers, handles etc. and see it in full scale on a real kitchen shaped canvas. These installations are placed in big stores with a lot of surrounding lights.”
“The wall screen was painted with Screen Goo Max Contrast. By doing this it lowered the white surface brightness and with a nice 7000 ansi lumen projektor the white did not suffer at all. This generated much better contrast and the details such as wood pattern, steel handles and bottles in the cabinets were much clearer.”
